Cheryl "Charito" Avery (Executive Director)

Cheryl has lived in Nicaragua since March 1995 and has worked in various church and organizational programs. Based on that experience, she started Project Chacocente in January 2003, buying 40 acres of farmland with her retirement savings.
Before coming to Nicaragua, Cheryl managed her own business for 12 years producing publications for high-tech and financial companies. Previously, she held management and editorial positions in high-tech companies.
Cheryl got married in 2007 to Esdras Salazar of Costa Rica, who volunteers at Chacocente.
Likes: Hiking, swimming, Bible studies, writing, photography.

Gabriel Godinez (Administrative Director )
Gabriel joined Project Chacocente in 2006 as the administrative director. He works in every aspect of the project, from driving children to doctors' appointments to ensuring that delegations' needs are met. Basically,
Gabriel oversees the daily activity of Chacocente.
